When you create a habit, choose its **Type**.

## Build habits

For things you want to do more: reading, walking, drinking water. You tick them off when they’re done, they follow the schedule you pick, and each one keeps a streak. Everything else in this help centre is about Build habits unless it says otherwise.

## Quit habits

For things you want to do less. A Quit habit counts the days you **stay clean**.

- Quit habits are **daily**.
- Each day you stayed clean, tap the badge to mark **Stayed clean today**. It isn’t marked automatically.
- On the habit form you can note **What triggers it?**, **What are you really after?** and **What will you do instead?**, so the moment is easier to handle.
- **Before quitting** records how many you used to have per day.

### If you slip

Open the habit’s menu (long-press it on Today) and tap **I slipped**. It clears today’s mark only:

> Noted. One slip is not a reset — tomorrow counts again.

### Riding out an urge

On a Quit habit’s screen, **Ride the urge** walks you through it: rate the urge, breathe for 90 seconds, then rate it again. Urges usually peak and pass.
