# Reminders aren’t arriving

> Check the three switches that control reminders: the habit’s “Remind me”, Reminders in Settings, and notifications for BeHabit on your phone.

Reminders need three switches to be on. Check them in this order.

## 1. The habit’s reminder

Open the habit, tap **Edit habit**, and make sure **Remind me** is on with the time you expect. How the time is picked is in [Set up reminders](https://behabit.app/help/reminders).

## 2. Reminders in BeHabit

**Settings › Reminders** must be on. It turns all reminders on or off.

## 3. Notifications for BeHabit on your phone

If BeHabit shows “Notifications are off for Behabit”, allow them in your phone’s settings:

- **iPhone**: Settings › Notifications › BeHabit › Allow Notifications.
- **Android**: Settings › Apps › BeHabit › Notifications.

## Still quiet?

- Reminders are silent by design (no sound or badge), so look for the banner or in Notification Center.
- A place reminder needs **Always** location access, so it can fire while BeHabit is closed.
- A **Focus** mode (iPhone) or **Do Not Disturb** can hold notifications back. Allow BeHabit in that Focus if you want reminders during it.
- Some Android phones stop apps in the background to save battery. Allowing BeHabit to run without battery restrictions can help.
- A reminder is cancelled once you tick the habit off that day. That habit’s reminders come back the next time you open BeHabit on a later day, so open the app now and then.
- Archived habits don’t send reminders. See [Archive, delete or reorder habits](https://behabit.app/help/archive-delete-reorder).
