# A widget looks out of date

> Widgets refresh when you open the app. If one says “Open Behabit to refresh” or shows old progress, here’s what to do.

Widgets refresh when BeHabit updates them, and the system decides how often that happens.

## It shows sample habits

Widgets are part of Premium. Without it, a widget shows a preview with sample habits instead of yours. Go Premium, or [restore your purchase](https://behabit.app/help/manage-purchase) if you already have it.

## “Open BeHabit to refresh”

A widget says this when it’s still showing a previous day. Open the app once and it catches up. On Android, tapping such a widget opens the app.

## Refresh them yourself

**Settings › Widgets › Refresh widgets** pushes the latest data to every widget.

## Ticking from a widget doesn’t work

- On iPhone, ticking habits from a widget needs **iOS 17 or later**. On earlier versions, tapping a widget opens the app.
- A widget tap marks the whole day done or undone. To log part of a count, use the app: see [Log counts, amounts and timed habits](https://behabit.app/help/counts-and-timers). Ticked by mistake? [Change or undo a check-in](https://behabit.app/help/edit-past-days).

## The wrong habit is showing

Habit widgets show a featured slot. Choose the habit for each slot in **Settings › Widgets › Featured habits**, or edit the widget and change **Featured habit**.

If a widget still looks stuck, remove it and add it again, as in [Add a Home Screen widget](https://behabit.app/help/add-a-widget).
