Rhythm (focus / break, minutes)

Tip: press Space to start or pause.

How to use it

  1. Choose a rhythm: 25 minutes of focus and 5 of rest is the classic Pomodoro, 50/10 suits longer tasks.

  2. Press Start and work on one thing until the ring closes.

  3. Take the break: stand up, look away from the screen.

  4. Repeat. After every fourth block you get a longer break, and the counter shows how many blocks you finished. Press Space to start or pause.

Questions

A time-management method created by Francesco Cirillo: work in a focused block (traditionally 25 minutes), take a short break, and take a longer break after a few blocks. This timer does the same: a short break after each block and a longer one after every fourth.

Yes. It measures real elapsed time, so it stays accurate if you switch tabs, and the remaining time shows in the tab title.

Only if you want it to. It’s silent by default; tick “Play a soft chime” and it plays two gentle notes when a block ends. The ring, the tab title and an on-screen message change either way.
