Add a Home Screen widget

Today and Habit widgets on iPhone and Android, plus Habbi on iPhone. How to add them, pick the habit they show, and tick habits off.

Updated

Widgets are part of Premium: without it, a widget you add shows a preview with sample habits. Settings › Widgets shows every widget with a live preview.

Home Screen widgets

BeHabit has two Home Screen widgets on both iPhone and Android:

  • Today: your progress and today’s habits. Tap a check to complete one.
    • Small: progress and the next habit.
    • Medium: progress and three habits.
    • Large: up to seven habits with streaks.
  • Habit: one habit with its streak and history. Small shows ten weeks, medium six months.

On iPhone there’s also Habbi, in small and medium: the mascot reacts to your day, sleepy in the morning and proud when it’s all done. The small widgets work in StandBy too: charge your iPhone on its side and read your progress from across the room.

For the Lock Screen, the Year wallpaper and Control Center, see Lock Screen, Control Center and more.

On iPhone

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on the Home Screen.
  2. Tap Edit, then Add Widget.
  3. Search for BeHabit and choose a size.

To choose which habit a Habit widget shows, touch and hold it, tap Edit Widget, and pick Featured habit.

On Android

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on the home screen.
  2. Tap Widgets and find BeHabit.
  3. Drag a widget into place. Hold it to resize.

When you add a Habit widget, BeHabit asks Which habit?.

Featured habits

Habit widgets show a featured slot (1, 2 or 3). Decide which habit fills each slot in Settings › Widgets › Featured habits. An empty slot shows the next habit in your Today order.

Ticking off from a widget

Tap a habit’s check on the Today widget. On iPhone this needs iOS 17 or later. A widget tap marks the whole day done (or undone), even for habits with a count. The app picks it up the next time it opens.
