How streaks work
A streak counts scheduled days completed in a row. Days off don’t break it, and today only counts against you once it’s over.
Updated
A streak is the number of scheduled days you completed in a row, counting back from today.
The rules
- Days off don’t count against you. If a habit is scheduled Monday to Friday, the weekend neither breaks nor adds to the streak.
- Today is still open. An unfinished today doesn’t break your streak until the day is over.
- Targets must be met. For a habit like 8 glasses, a day counts once you reach 8.
- Weekly habits count weeks. A habit set to a number of times per week keeps a streak of weeks in a row where you hit the target.
- Nothing before the habit existed counts. Days before you created it are ignored.
Where you see it
Cards show the streak once it reaches 3 days. Before that, they show how many of the last 14 days you did, like “9 of last 14”, because a small streak says less than a good fortnight.
The habit screen shows your current and best streak. You can hide streaks everywhere with Settings › Habits › Show streaks.
Streaks aren’t everything
A streak resets after one miss. Your history doesn’t. That’s why Insights leads with consistency and counts your comebacks too.
Rest days
There are no skip or freeze days. If you know you won’t do a habit on some days, schedule it with Days and leave those days out.
